Looking into the *nature* of our core beliefs can be overwhelming work. Insight takes effort. It’s also necessary to remember that insight is multi-layered…the more effort you give, the deeper the insight will be, the greater the payoff for your awareness. Last week I posed some questions for you to ask yourself (part of core belief work is simply getting comfortable with the questions). This week, we’re gonna look at what to do with the answers.
Understanding why we do the things we do by looking at how *nature* influences us is eye-opening no doubt. That said, it can sometimes give us a view of things we don’t necessarily want to see. Difficult truths or memories, unwanted behavior patterns… It can also provide us a reflection of our inner strengths and resolve. Using the answers you came up with from last week’s questions, you’re going to start *nurturing* your *natured* core beliefs to be what you WANT them to be as opposed to only accepting those beliefs that just happen to be there.
So. . . do your answers have common threads? A general ‘tone’? Are they more random or perhaps, selective? Start to quantify and qualify some of those existing/*natured* core beliefs by what your answers are showing. Name them. Give them a label. Drilling down and doing so will then help you either keep and hone or change and adjust, furthering the insight that comes with the process.
This is only one part of the *nurturing* element of core belief work. But we’ll leave part two for another day. This first part, in and of itself, will take some time to do it justice. Also, I’m recovering from yet another surgery (cancer sucks, guys) so this is all that I have the capacity for today. I imagine it’ll give you plenty to chew on, nonetheless. Also, also 😏 – Just in case you don’t really know, this is the kind of work I, as a life coach, can do for you: invite you into a process, hold you accountable to said process, encourage you as you reach new depths of the process, all so YOU gain the impactful insight that comes from doing the work…its entirety being unique to you and your individual story. And, ultimately, you benefiting from your own investment into yourself. Just a little FYI. 😬
Rest and feel better
