Each Interaction. Each Happenstance. Each Impactful.

I’m almost out of bandwidth for today due to the crazy amount of studying I’ve been doing but I wanted to take a quick break and write about my day. Today’s prompt is about the interactions of my day that were impactful…

My Haleigh asked me to have breakfast with her this morning. Just one on one ‘cause no one else was home. It was wonderful. Simple, some quiet, some talking, some music. But we were together and I got to hear her heart and what she is struggling with and what she is celebrating. I’m so proud of her.

My Caty came home for lunch and we ended up getting some alone time together ‘cause no one else was home. Just the two of us, snacking on chips and salsa, talking about life and sports, psychology and relationships. It was wonderful to get to connect with her as she is going 100 mph in this crazy covid Junior year of hers. I’m so proud of her.

My Annie and I had dinner together, just us ‘cause no one else was home. It was so good spending alone time with my 12-going-on-30 kid. She and I can talk about so much, our hearts aligned with what it looks like to love others, to pursue truth and to be authentically bold…even when it’s the harder road. I’m so proud of her.

Each interaction, each a happenstance, each incredibly impactful. I love living life with them, calling them daughters and friends, hearing what they think and feel and through all of that, learning so much from each of them.

Now, back to studying.

Today was a sad day.

My heart is heavy. I’m tired of everything being so hard.

I’m overwhelmed by what lies ahead.

My soul is exhausted.

Saying yes to more things. Living. Making memories. Laughing.

Adam Sandler with some of my bests.

Laughter is good medicine.
